Our history

Roehampton Dance Festival was founded and led by Roehampton Dance students and has been running successfully since 2012. In 2014 the yearly festival was re-named Footprint Dance Festival as it had grown in popularity and sought to establish as a professional organisation. The festival introduced bringing together dance artists, Roehampton University Students and the local community to celebrate new up and coming works, to Discover, Inspire and Celebrate dance and its diversities.

With the pioneering work of the core comittee 2014, Footprint Dance Festival launched a new attitude as the festival began embarking on a professional and entrepreneurial journey. Over the years we have celebrated works from international choreographers, delivered a variety of workshops including somatic practices such as Feldenkrais and Pilates, celebrated high quality student and professional work, as well as engaging communities with dance projects.
