Excitement in the air…
14 April 2014

It is safe to say that everything has definitely ramped up a notch behind the scenes for this years festival. For me, this week has consisted of meetings, organising, tweets, coffee and more organising (and of course a bit of dancing!). The team and I have been working very hard on all festival logistics to make sure everything is in place for our week, and I have to say, it is looking pretty exciting!

This years festival is our biggest yet, with exciting changes which we hope will blow you away. We’ve changed the name, added a festival fringe, have a fantastic website and most notably this year we have opened up our festival doors to artists from outside of the University. We are proud and delighted to announce that all events are FREE FOR STUDENTS! (You must book all workshops and performances).

Although the festival has grown and developed a great deal since the initial opening in 2011, this years team has a lot to thank from previous committees. The first festival was ‘Roehampton Dance festival’ was voluntarily organised and created by third year dance students. I have been fortunate to be involved with the previous two festivals and I have learned a great deal of what is required in order to create and deliver an excellent festival. This years festival definitely would not be what it is without all the hard work and commitment from all the fantastic teams previously. It is a privilege to be able to continue on all their hard work and to be able to develop and expand the festival along side my other committee team members!

I really hope everyone gets a chance to visit and experience the festival this year, as we would love to see you all there! Hopefully the festival will give people an opportunity to discover something new, be inspired and celebrate dance and artists, all under Roehampton’s fantastic campus.
